April 26, 2023 11.30-14.30 (Yekaterinburg) – 8.30-11.30 (Kaliningrad)

The International Youth Competition for Startups in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry “ProTourism2023” (hereinafter referred to as the Competition, Venue Competition) is held at several venues of the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (hereinafter XIII EEFM) as part of the Entrepreneurship and Engineering Congress.

The co-organizer of the Competition at the site of the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation is the Western Branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, Kaliningrad. 

The final of the Competition will take place on April 26, 2023 at the same time:

• at the main platform of the XIII EEFM at the Ural State University of Economics (hereinafter referred to as USUE), Yekaterinburg, Russia;
• at the platform of the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation XIII EEFM at the Kaliningrad State Technological University, Kaliningrad. 

The competition is held with the aim of enhancing the professional research activities of students of higher educational institutions and colleges,gaining practical experience and skills in developing START-UP projects in the tourism and hospitality industry in a competitive market, as well as identifying and supporting talented youth, helping to form and promote youth tourism business projects through interaction with industry professionals.

The tasks that the competition solves:

• identification of talented youth in the field of tourism design;
• assistance in the formation and promotion of youth tourism business projects through interaction with professionals in the tourism community;
• increasing the interest and involvement of young people (including students) in entrepreneurial activity, the development and implementation of modern and innovative projects in the development of domestic and inbound tourism in the Russian Federation;
• popularization of tourist and recreational opportunities of the Russian Federation;
• support for the scientific and practical development of talented youth in the field of tourism.

Participants of the Platform Competition are students and undergraduates of colleges, universities, research institutes, as well as other interested organizations of the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation without a degree under the age of 25 years.

Participants of the Competition can be both individual participants and teams of participants, up to 3 people.

The competition is held in the form of a presentation for examination and evaluation by leading practitioners, heads of hospitality industry enterprises, public authorities, developed by the participants of the competition initiative projects for the implementation of business ideas, concepts for the creation and development of organizations in the HoReCa industry and tourism.

START-UP projects are initiated and developed by the participants on the basis of preliminary research and scientific understanding of the existing real problems in the development of the services market in the tourism and hospitality industry, as well as the creative application of knowledge and skills in the professional service areas of the Competition. 

Competitive projects are submitted to the Competition in the following thematic areas:

• tourism;
• hospitality;
• food industry;

Applications for participation in the Competition and competitive works in the form of a START-UP project are submitted until March 20, 2023 through the registration system of the XIII EEFM website (eurasia-forum.ru), choosing during registration: Platform of the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation, Kaliningrad - the name of the Contest is the name of the direction. 

Experts of the Platform Competition select 1 best project, in each direction of the Competition, to participate in the International Final.

The lists of the finalists of the Competition from the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation will be published on the Competition page of the platform of the EEFM website from April 1 to April 10, 2023.

The final defense of the works will take place on April 26, 2023 (11.30-13.30 in Yekaterinburg and 8.30-12.30 in Kaliningrad), awarding - on April 27, 2023 (the time of awarding will be announced later).

At the same time, the author of the best project (team captain) of one of the areas of the Competition will be sent at the expense of the organizers of the XIII EEFM to USUE (Yekaterinburg, Russia) for full-time participation in the International Final and other events of the XIII EEFM.

The remaining winners of the qualifying round, who took 1st places in other areas of the Competition, will take part in the final of the Competition online from the platform of the Western Branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation.

All finalists of the Competition of the platform of the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation are awarded with diplomas and small orders "Star of Eurasia".

The winners of each of the three thematic areas of the International Final of the Competition are awarded with diplomas, orders and cash prizes:

• 10 000 rubles - for 1 place

Winners of the thematic areas of the International Final of the Contest are awarded with diplomas and orders.

The winners of the Competition, awarded with the Diploma of the 1st degree, are awarded points for individual achievements in admission to study at USUE for master's programs (2 points).
