The international competition of applied projects of young scientists and specialists “City: Open the future” is held at several venues of the XV Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (hereinafter XV EEYF) within the framework of the Congress of Strategists.

The co-organizer of the Competition on the site of the Republic of Tajikistan is the Tajik National University.

The aim of the Competition is to develop analytical, managerial, research, and creative competencies and to assist in the implementation of initiatives of young specialists in the field of forecasting and strategic planning of urban development.

Participants of the Competition are students, postgraduates, applicants for an academic degree, young researchers of universities, academic institutes, as well as employees of other interested organizations of the Republic of Tajikistan aged 18 to 25 years.

Projects for the Competition can be submitted individually or by a group of up to 5 people.

Thematic areas of the competition:

• City of the future: comfortable (creation of a comfortable urban environment; formation of the city infrastructure; development of the city’s transport system; efficient and rational use of city land; planning structure of the city of the future; rational use of undeveloped land within the city, etc.);
• City of the future: environmentally friendly (environmental safety of the city; formation of an environmentally friendly urban environment; improvement of the surrounding urban environment; reduction of noise levels in the city; restoration and improvement of natural objects of cities, etc.);
• City of the future: attractive (improvement of urban areas, landscaping of the city; what is the city today and tomorrow?; optimal city; post-industrial transformation of cities; ensuring the quality and availability of municipal services; sustainable development of the city, etc.);
• City of the future: safe (formation of a safe and tolerant urban environment; formation of mechanisms for creating a clean and safe city; improving the quality and ensuring the safety of life of the urban population; issues of creating a safe living environment, etc.);
• City of the future: creative (city branding, city image; creative city industry; cultural worldview in urban development, etc.);
• City of the future: technological (new technologies or smart technologies of urban economy; smart city; high-tech city; nature conservation, energy conservation, waste recycling and innovative technologies in urban construction, etc.).

Applications for participation in the Competition and abstracts are submitted before March 20, 2025 through the registration system of the website: Republic of Tajikistan site – name of the Competition.

The lists of competition winners invited to the in-person defense of their works and to participate in the final events of the Forum will be published on the competition page from April 1 to 10, 2025.

The International Final of the Competition will take place on April 24, 2025 from 10.30 to 13.30 (Yekaterinburg time) at the Ural State University of Economics, Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The award ceremony for the finalists of the Site Competition and the finalists of the International Final of the Competition will take place on April 24, 2025, simultaneously (via video link) at two sites:

• at the main site of the XV EEYF at the Ural State University of Economics (hereinafter USUE), Yekaterinburg, Russia;
• at the site of the Republic of Tajikistan XV EEYF in the Tajik National University, Tajikistan

Participants of the Competition of the Republic of Tajikistan site, who took 1st to 5th places, are awarded with certificates and small orders "Star of Eurasia".

The winners and prize winners of the Competition will be awarded with diplomas and cash prizes:

• 15,000 rubles - for 1st place
• 10 000 rubles - for 2nd place
• 5 000 rubles -for 3rd place

The winners of the Competition, awarded a 1st degree Diploma, are awarded points for individual achievements when applying for admission to study at USUE in master's programs (2 points).

Following the final events, it is planned to publish a collection of materials of the XV EEYF, where the abstracts of the finalists of the Competition will be posted. The collection will be posted in the Russian Science Citation Index and on the website of the Ural State University of Economics.
