Not a word about politics
On the sidelines of the XIII EEYF, international students met with representatives of their countries.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ecuador to the Russian Federation Mr. Juan Fernando Holguin Flores met with his compatriots, students studying at Ural State University of Economics and Ural Federal University.
“Today, for the first time, I met with our guys from Ecuador, who are studying in Yekaterinburg. I wish to know how they are doing, how they feel here,” Juan Fernando Holguin Flores said.
The students shared their problems with the Ambassador. For example, after training, they would like to do an internship in Russia, but so far this is not possible. The ambassador promised to settle the issue, and told the students what other assistance the embassy could provide to the citizens of their country.
“Most importantly, I would like our students to know that they are not alone here. The Embassy of Ecuador will always come to the rescue and support in difficult times,” the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ecuador to the Russian Federation concluded.
The Minister of Education of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Russia, Mr. Subrata Das, discussed with fellow students the issue of recognizing a Russian diploma of higher education abroad. Students who study at the UrFU Faculty of Chemistry were concerned about the demand for their specialty after returning to their homeland. The minister spoke about the education reform and assured students that educated people would always find a decent job.
A USUE student is preparing to enter the economic area of study, therefore, in the current period, he was more worried about the problems of language adaptation. One way is to find opportunities to communicate more. At the USUE Preparatory Faculty, they offer 8 areas of training (economic, medical, engineering, humanitarian, artistic, natural sciences and two linguistic).
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Zeljko Samardjija met with students of 10-11 grades of Yekaterinburg linguistic lyceum No. 13.
The meeting was held at the initiative of schoolchildren who were interested in learning firsthand about the history, culture, and traditions of the Balkan state, as well as discussing the possibility of cooperation in the field of education.
They held an interesting dialogue in two languages: Serbian and English, although the Ambassador speaks excellent Russian, which he showed in a brief speech before the start of the meeting.
“I am glad to share information about the situation in the Balkans, to discuss the possibilities of our cooperation on educational exchange programs with the Ural youth. It’s nice to know that the guys are interested in the history of the Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am also interested in meting and talking to them - this is my first time in the Urals and in Yekaterinburg. The city is beautiful,” Zeljko Samardjija said.
