Who are they - the heroes of our time?
As part of the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, a challenge in the style of TikTok “Hero of Our Time” was held at the Congress of Strategists.
The Congress of Strategists was designed as a launching pad for young scientists, specialists and experts, which gives them the opportunity to increase their interest in the chosen profession. The Congress makes it possible to identify gifted youth, to form human resources for research, administrative, and entrepreneurial activities.
The competition is held in three areas. The scientific supervisors are: Ekaterina Yalunina in the area “Hero – a teacher of an educational institution”, Alla Matveeva in the area “Hero - an urban entrepreneur”, and Marina Chudinovskikh in the area “Hero – a mentor of a city enterprise”.
“The competition helps find out to what extent its participants, when using a video as a form of presenting competitive material and digital technologies through social networks, can assess the nature of the influence of an individual on the socio-economic development of a country, region, locality, as well as build the most important relationships between heroism and patriotism,” Ekaterina Yalunina, director of the USUE Institute of Continuing and Distance Education said.
Out of all applications sent to the competition, the jury selected 317 works. The students presented these videos to the jury at the first stage of the competition.
A student team “Domino” from the Polzunov Ural College presented a video about the teacher and artist of the Sverdlovsk Academic Drama Theater Alexander Khvostov. He volunteered for the SMO zone, and thus the students tried to express pride in their teacher.
The students of the Mechanics and Engineering College presented a story about their teacher, Tatyana Vilevna. She is a hero who infects with her energy and spurs her students on to excellent studies.
USUE students told a story about girls who created a unique cat cafe in Yekaterinburg, where homeless animals live.
A student of the Baku Eurasian University from Azerbaijan presented a video about the national hero of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
The guys from the Trade and Economic Technical School made a video about the teacher of additional education, Yevgeny Gulyaev. According to them, the teacher tries to reveal the potential of each student and charges his students with energy and optimism.
The participants of the competition were students of colleges, technical schools, higher educational institutions, postgraduate students, applicants for a scientific degree and junior researchers of universities under 35 years of age.
Winners and prize-winners will be awarded certificates and cash prizes: 1st place - 7 thousand rubles, 2nd place - 5 thousand rubles, 3rd place - 3 thousand rubles.
Besides, the winners of the competition, awarded with first class certificates, will be granted extra points for individual achievements when entering USUE: for master’s degree programs - 2 extra points; for bachelor’s degree programs (accelerated training under individual curricula for graduates of colleges and technical schools) - 5 extra points.
The award ceremony will take place tomorrow.
