Competition of essays

Within the framework of the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum at the Congress of Strategists, the international essay competition for young scientists “Modern Trends in the Economic Development of the World” was held.


The international essay competition for young scientists and students is held by Ural State University of Economics in cooperation with the Sverdlovsk regional public organization of the Free Economic Society of Russia.

The purpose of the competition is to found a platform for young scientists and specialists to provide them with an opportunity for discussing the issues of improving the quality of training and raising the interest of young scientists and students in their chosen profession,” Viktor Tsibikov, scientific supervisor of the competition, said.

The speaker noted that the competition also helps identify gifted youth and form human resources for research, administrative, industrial, and entrepreneurial activities.

The competition was attended by students of colleges, technical schools, higher educational institutions, graduate students, applicants for a scientific degree, young scientists of universities and academic institutions of Russia and the CIS countries aged 18 to 35 years.

Works for the competition were submitted by 15 authors, who are studying at the universities of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Research papers and projects were submitted to the competition in the following areas: “End-to-end technologies of the digital economy,”, “Multipolar world in focus of new reality” and “Actual problems of forming investment attractiveness of the country.”

A USUE student, Rudolf Esvein, in his essay “A Multipolar World in Focus of New Reality”, spoke about the processes of deglobalization and import substitution on the Russian market of medical equipment.

A USUE student Aleksei Karzhavin read out the essay “The Impact of Multipolarity”, in which he spoke about the truck market in Russia. As you know, internal and external freight traffic plays a big role in the economy of our country.

The jury highly appreciated the essay “The Concept of Systems Thinking and Its Role in the Development of Modern Business” by Andrey Neganov from USUE. The student explored a hot topic and showed the problems of modern business.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition are awarded with certificates and money prizes: 1st place - 7 thousand rubles, 2nd place - 5 thousand rubles, 3rd place - 3 thousand rubles. Besides, the winners of the competition, awarded with the Certificate 1st class, are granted extra points for individual achievements when entering USUE: for master’s programs - 2 points; bachelor’s degree (training under individual curricula in accelerated terms for graduates of colleges and technical schools) - 5 points.

Based on the results of the finals, it is planned to publish a collection of abstracts of the Competition finalists with placement in the RSCI and on the websites of Ural State University of Economics.
