IT-constructor
The IT- constructor Championship at the XIII EEYF Congress of Innovators is held as youth competitions in the application of their knowledge, skills and abilities when creating websites in various areas of construction, services, trade, and its goal is to promote the implementation of creative initiatives of young professionals in this field.
The participants of this competition are students, postgraduate students, applicants for a degree, young scientists from universities, academic institutions in Russia and foreign countries, as well as employees of other interested organizations, mainly within teams.
Yevgenia Nikulina, project coordinator, inspector of the USUE Educational Center for Information Technologies, spoke about the details of the Championship: “The guys will present their sites to invited practitioners and experts. There are several evaluation criteria: site presentation, practical and social significance, technical implementation. We have ten teams, each of two to four members. The guys from Belarus, the Stavropol Territory, Moscow, St. Petersburg and, of course, from Yekaterinburg and other cities of the Sverdlovsk region, passed the registration. The most interesting and highly valued projects are those that touch upon the topics of patriotic education and have cultural and social significance, such as the 300th anniversary of Yekaterinburg. Some sites are already operating, some still have only a design project and technical implementation in progress. The winning team and prize-winning teams of the championship are awarded with diplomas, orders and cash prizes.”
However, they compete not only because of valuable prizes. “Our ‘Iverse’ project is an ecosystem, a working platform for additional education institutions,” Ivan Belogurov, an eighth-grader from Yekaterinburg,” says. “On our platform, school students can create projects, look for ideas for implementation, and also join other people’s projects or find teammates to work with. Our platform also solves document flow problems. We have a ready database of projects, and institutions of additional education do not need to further aggregate this database - work in excel tables, establish specialized departments, since we automatically pull in all this data and provide it to them.”
In the final, the head of the USUE Department of Engineering Infrastructure and Service, a permanent member of the jury, Vladimir Firsov voiced an expert opinion: “I have been judging this competition for several years already. It is held not only within the forum. To our competitions, we invite teams of universities, colleges, and schools that create socially significant tourist or simply very original projects. At events such as the IT-constructor website building championship, students gain necessary competencies and gain new knowledge for self-development. This is very helpful and may come in handy in the future. I am sure that one of our today’s participants will choose a profession related to IT technologies.”
