International Competition of Children's and Youth Creativity “I'm an Artist. UN Sustainable Development Goals as Seen by Young People”

The International Competition of Children's and Youthful Creativity "I am an Artist. UN Sustainable Development Goals through the Eyes of Youth" will be held as an exhibition in electronic format from February 1, 2025 to April 22, 2025 on the website of the XV EEYF and on the website of the UNESCO Club "Sovushka".

The finalists' works, based on the results of online voting and evaluation by the expert commission, will be presented on April 22, 2025, in an offline format at the "Around the World" Festival of Cultures" within the framework of the XV Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (IEC "Ekaterinburg-Expo (MTC live hall)", Expo Boulevard, 2).

The competition is organized by the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Ural State University of Economics” (USUE); UNESCO Club “Sovushka” and the UN Information Center in Moscow, with the support of the UNESCO Clubs Accreditation Committee under the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The objectives of the Competition: to involve young people in active cooperation for the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter SDGs); to disseminate information about the SDGs, as well as about the activities of the UN, UNESCO and the World Movement of UNESCO Clubs, their principles and ideals; to create favorable conditions for the realization of the creative potential of children and young people through the means of fine art.

 

The objectives of the competition: development of the creative potential of the exhibition participants, aimed at the formation of citizenship and patriotism; increasing the motivation of children to understand the spiritual and moral aspects of human life; development of children's creative activity; creation of a favorable environment for creative communication, a situation of success.

Participants of the Competition: UNESCO clubs, students, postgraduates, schoolchildren, pupils of children's art schools, art departments of children's art schools, general education institutions, as well as other interested organizations aged 10 to 30 are invited to participate in the competition.

Project works for the Competition can be submitted both individually and by teams of up to 3 people.

Nominations: painting; graphics; decorative and applied arts; photography; sculpture; design.

Age groups:

  • 1 age group (10 - 14 years);
  • 2 age group (15 - 20 years);
  • 3 age group (21 - 30 years). 

Evaluation criteria: artistic expressiveness; aesthetic qualities of the work: compositional and color scheme; creative individuality of the author’s skill; originality of interpretation of the idea.

Applications for participation in the Competition and competition works are submitted until March 20, 2025 through the registration system of the site. Each participant of the Competition submits an application by choosing the category "individual participation" or "team participation".

The lists of competition finalists invited to participate in the exhibition and final events of the Forum will be published on the competition page from 1 to 15 April 2025.

The award ceremony will take place on April 24, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The winners and prize winners of the Competition will be awarded diplomas and orders.

The winners of the Competition, awarded a 1st degree Diploma, are awarded points for individual achievements when applying for admission to study at USUE in the bachelor's (5 points) and master's (2 points) programs.
