International Competition of Children's and Youth Creativity “I am an Artist. The UN Sustainable Development Goals through the Eyes of Young People” is held as an e-format exhibition from February 1, 2023 to April 27 2023 on the website of XIII EEYF and on the website of UNESCO Club "Sovushka". The works of the winners will be presented offline on April 25, 2023 at the Festival of Cultures “Around the World” as part of XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (at EC Ekaterinburg-Expo (MTC live hall), 2 Expo Boulevard St.).

The competition is organized by Ural State University of Economics (USUE); UNESCO Club "Sovushka" and the UN Information Center in Moscow, at the support of the Committee for Accreditation of UNESCO Clubs under the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

 Goals of the Competition:  attracting young people to active cooperation for the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter referred to as the SDGs); dissemination of information about the SDGs, as well as about the activities of the UN, UNESCO and the World Movement of UNESCO Clubs, their principles and ideals; creation of favorable conditions for the realization of the creative potential of children and youth by means of fine arts.

Objectives of the Competition: development of the creative potential of the exhibition participants, aimed at forming civic consciousness and patriotism; increasing the motivation of children to understanding the spiritual and moral aspects of human life; development of creative activity of children; creation of friendly environment for communication, success situation.

Competition Participants: UNESCO clubs, students, undergraduates, schoolchildren, students of children's art schools, art departments of children's art schools, educational institutions, as well as other interested organizations aged from 13 to 25 years are invited to participate in the competition.

The Projects for the Competition can be sent both individually and by teams of up to 3 people.

Nominations: painting; graphics; arts and crafts; photographic art; sculpture; design.

Age groups:

  • 1st age group (13-16 years old);
  • 2nd age group (17 – 20 years old);
  • 3rd age group (21-25 years). 

Evaluation Criteria: artistic expressiveness; aesthetic qualities of the work: compositional and color solutions; creative individuality of the author; originality of interpretation of the idea.

 Applications for participation in the Competition and competitive works are submitted  until March 20, 2023  through the registration system of the website. Each participant of the competition submits an application by choosing the category "individual participation" or "team participation".

The lists of the competition finalists who are invited to participate in the exhibition and the final events of the Forum will be published on the competition webpage from April 1 to April 10, 2023.

Awarding will take place onApril 27, 2023 from 13.30 to 15:00

Winners and prize-winners of the Competition are awarded with diplomas and orders.

The winners of the Competition, awarded with the Diploma of the 1st degree, also get points for individual achievements at admission to study in USUE under the bachelor's and master's programs (2 points).
