The All-Russian Student Tournament of Natural Sciences is organized by the Ural State University of Economics in cooperation with other leading universities in the region, including the Ural State Agrarian University, Ural State Mining University and Ural State Forestry University.

The aim of the tournament is to enhance the quality of education for future specialists, increase students' interest in applied sciences and technologies, identify and develop students' skills in natural science disciplines, promote scientific knowledge and identify talented young people.

Students aged 18-25 from higher education institutions are invited to participate in the tournament. Teams must consist of five members, with only one team representing each organization.

The Natural Sciences Tournament is a collaborative creative competition for students that promotes the development of skills in solving both applied and theoretical problems, and fosters the ability to engage in scientific discussions. This event provides a unique platform for students to put their existing fundamental knowledge of physics, chemistry, and biology into practice as they tackle practical challenges.

A panel of experts is appointed to assess the outcomes of the competition. The Tournament's results are determined based on the scores awarded by these experts for each completed task.

Applications for team participation in the competition must be submitted by March 20, 2025 via the registration system on the website. Each team member must submit an application by selecting the category "Team Participation", then the "Team Captain" or "Team Member" option. In the "Team Name" field, all team members must indicate the name of their team.

The Team Captain must attach a file containing the name of the team, a list of participants, and an abstract of the research paper (no more than one page) to their application form. The research paper should be based on the theme "Scientific Developments that Will Change the World" and should examine news about recent scientific advances in physics, chemistry, and biology, as well as analyze the potential for their practical application.

Teams that have been selected for full-time competition will prepare a presentation and deliver a verbal defense (5-7 minute time limit) of their material.

The lists of teams participating in the Natural Science Tournament will be posted on the competition website from April 1-10, 2025.

The main event of the tournament will take place on April 24th, 2025 between 10:00amm and 13:30. The award ceremony will follow on April 25th.

Winners and prize-winning teams will be awarded with diplomas, medals, and cash prizes:

  • 10,000 rubles for the 2nd place
  • 5,000 rubles for the 3rd place
