The International Online Olympiad is organized by the Ural State University of Economics (USUE) within the framework of the EEFM Congress of Economists and Financiers. The Olympiad is dedicated to modern processes occurring in the economic and financial spheres in the context of the structural transformation of world economic relations and political turbulence observed in recent years.

The goal of the Olympiad is to increase the population’s interest in obtaining and increasing economic knowledge by revealing their abilities for economic analysis and aptitude for economic thinking, making meta-subject connections between economic, political and social processes.

Participants in the Olympiad are students, undergraduates, graduate students, people interested in modern problems of economics and finance, under the age of 35.

Applications for participation in the Olympiad are accepted until March 20, 2024 through the registration system of the EEFM website. Participation in the Olympics is individual.

The final of the Olympiad is held remotely, on the main competition day of the Forum, April 24, 2024, in the form of testing performed by participants on the specialized website of the Olympiad. The address of a specialized website and instructions for completing tasks are sent in advance to the participant’s email address specified when registering on the EEFM website.

Access to taksks will be opened on the main competition day of the Forum. The test task completion time is 60 minutes. Number of questions – 40. Number of attempts to pass – 1.

All assignments include assessment of the implementation of professional competencies within the disciplines: “World Economy”, “Foreign Economic Activity”, “National Economy”, “Regional Economy”, “Macroeconomics”, “Money, Credit, Banking”, “Finance”, “Political Science” etc.

Based on the testing results, the winner and medalists of the Olympics in the overall standings are determined, taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, in terms of the number of points scored; as well as the winner and prize-winners of foreign/regional sites that have chosen this Olympiad for the participants of their site.

Lists of the winner and medalists of the Olympiad in the overall standings and the winner and medalists of foreign/regional venues are published on the Olympiad page of the EEFM website.

The awarding of the winners and prize-winners of the Olympics will take place on April 25, 2024 , in person, simultaneously at the USUE site and at foreign/regional Olympic venues via video conferencing.

The overall winner and medalists of the Olympics are awarded diplomas, orders and cash prizes:

  • 15,000 rubles – for 1st place
  • 10,000 rubles – for 2nd place
  • 5,000 rubles – for 3rd place

The winner of the Olympiad, awarded a 1st degree Diploma, is awarded points for individual achievements when admitted to study at USUE in master's programs (2 points) .
