The international competition for applied projects by young scientists and students, "Applied IT Solutions in Science, Business, and Government," is held in two phases: a correspondence assessment and a face-to-face presentation of projects in information technology for application in the future economy, financial and industrial sectors, state and municipal administration, science, education, management, and international trade with Asian, African, and Latin American countries. The competition is organized by the Ural State University of Economics in collaboration with the Crimean Federal University, Magnitogorsk State Technical University, Chelyabinsk State University, the PF SKB Kontur, SKB LAB, Targem Games, Optima-PROMO, SMT, Naumen, and PROFIT, among other organizations.
The purpose of the competition is to encourage the implementation of innovative initiatives by young professionals in the fields of analysis, design, and development of information systems for global economic, business, industrial, service, and scientific activities.
Eligible participants include students, graduate students, aspiring researchers, and young professionals from universities and academic institutions in Russia and other countries, as well as representatives of other relevant organizations, aged between 18 and 35.
Team projects for the competition can be submitted by teams of up to three members.
Applications and entries for the competition must be submitted through the online registration system on or before March 20, 2025. Individual participants should use the "individual participation" option in the registration process.
- Group participation: Each member of the group applies for participation through the registration system of the platform, selecting the category "Team participation", then either "Team captain" or "Team member". In the "Work topic" field, each participant indicates the name of their project. The team leader attaches a project file to the registration form, listing all the authors of the project.
The lists of finalists for the competition, who are invited to full-time presentation of works and participation in the final events of the forum, will be published on the competition website from April 1 to April 10, 2025.
The face-to-face presentation will take place on April 23, 2025, from 10:30 am.m. to 3:30 p.m., with awards being presented on April 24, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Winners and prize-winners of the competition are awarded with certificates, medals and cash prizes:
- 15,000 rubles for the 1st place
- 10,000 rubles for the 2nd place
- 5,000 rubles for the 3rd place
The winners of the competition, awarded with a diploma of the first degree, are given points for individual achievements when applying to USUE for Master's programs (2 points).
Participation in the competition is also possible through remote technologies - registered participants and experts receive access to USUE cloud resources based on MS Office 365 and connect to interactive sessions within events through teams created in Microsoft Teams.
