April 26, 2023 10.30-13.30 (Yekaterinburg) – 15.30-18.30 (Vladivostok)

The international competition of applied projects of young scientists and specialists "City: Open the future" (hereinafter referred to as the Competition, platform Competition) is held at several platforms of the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (hereinafter XIII EEFM) within the framework of the Congress of Economists and Financiers.

The co-organizer of the Competition at the platform of the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation is Vladivostok State University, Vladivostok.

The final of the Competition will take place on April 26, 2023 at the same time: 

• at the main platform of the XIII EEFM at the Ural State University of Economics (hereinafter referred to as USUE), Yekaterinburg, Russia;
• at the platform of the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation XIII EEFM at Vladivostok State University, Vladivostok, Russia. 

The purpose of the Competition: the formation of analytical, managerial, research, creative competencies and assistance in the implementation of initiatives of young professionals in the field of forecasting and strategic planning of urban development.

Participants of the Platform Competition are students, graduate students, applicants for a scientific degree, young scientists from universities, academic institutions, as well as employees of other interested organizations of the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation under the age of 25 years.

Projects for the Competition can be sent individually or from a team of up to 5 people.

Thematic areas of the competition: 

• City of the future: comfortable (formation of a comfortable urban environment; formation of the city's infrastructure; development of the city's transport system; efficient and rational use of urban land; planning structure of the city of the future; rational use of undeveloped land within the city, etc.);
• City of the future: environmentally friendly (environmental safety of the city; formation of an environmentally friendly urban environment; improvement of the urban environment; reduction of noise load in the city; restoration and improvement of natural objects of cities, etc.);
• City of the future: attractive (beautification of urban areas, greening the city; what is the city today and tomorrow?; optimal city; post-industrial transformation of cities; ensuring the quality and availability of municipal services; sustainable development of the city, etc.);
• City of the future: safe (formation of a safe and tolerant urban environment; formation of mechanisms for creating a clean and safe city; improving the quality and ensuring the safety of the life of the urban population; issues of creating a safe living environment, etc.);
• City of the future: creative (city branding, city image; creative industry of the city; cultural outlook in urban development, etc.);
• City of the future: technological (new technologies or smart technologies of urban economy; smart city; city of high technologies; nature conservation, energy conservation, waste processing and innovative technologies in urban construction, etc.).

Applications for participation in the Competition, competitive works and abstracts of works are submitted until March 20, 2023 through the registration system of the XIII EEFM website (eurasia-forum.ru), choosing during registration: Platform of the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation - the name of the Competition.

Platform Contest experts select up to 5 best works to participate in the international finals of the Contest.

The lists of finalists of the Competition from the platform of the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation will be published on the Competition page of the platform of the EEFM website from April 1 to April 10, 2023.

The author of the best project (team captain), which won 1st place in the qualifying round, will be sent at the expense of the organizers of the XIII EEFM to USUE for full-time participation in the final of the Competition and other events of the XIII EEFM.

The rest of the participants who took 2-5 places in the qualifying round will take part in the final of the Contest online from the platform of Vladivostok State University.

The final defense of the works will take place on April 26, 2023 (10.30-13.30 Ekaterinburg time - 15.30-18.30 Vladivostok time), awarding - April 27, 2023 (the time of awarding will be announced later).

The international final of the Competition is held in two stages:

2.1. Official project protection with a layout or visualization of your project;

2.2. Interactive protection with elements of forecasting and foresight: "Expert centrifuge"

All finalists of the Competition of the platform of the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation are awarded with diplomas and small orders of the Star of Eurasia

The winners and prize-winners of the international finals of the Competition are awarded with diplomas, cash prizes and gifts:

• 15 000 rubles - for 1st place
• 10,000 rubles - for 2nd place
• 5,000 rubles - for 3rd place

The winners of the Competition, awarded with the Diploma of the 1st degree, are awarded points for individual achievements in admission to study at USUE for master's programs (2 points).

Based on the results of the final events, it is planned to release a collection of materials of the XIII EEFM, where the abstracts of the finalists of the Competition will be posted. The collection will be published in the RSCI and on the EEFM website.
